In One Word:

In One Word:

What does this time of year really symbolize for you? In one word.

Saturday I was deeply moved by this massive news media coverage about a nationwide chain of events.

It was so refreshing, heart warming and inspiring to see these stories on the news instead of all the negative horrible things that the news tends to only focus on.

You know, I feel that these stories really make you re-evaluate your own feelings not only about this time of year but every day and I can’t help but think what this time of year really signifies.

Tell me, what does this time of year really mean to you? In one word.

The Blessing of the Spirit of Giving Still Lives on! See this…

The Blessing of the Spirit of Giving Still Lives on! See this…

To you it may not be much but, to someone else it may mean the world!

If you are wondering if there are still people around that care selflessly about giving to others check these stories out  they will give you the chills. Pass these along or pay it forward!

A Cowboy, A Smile, An Airport…

A Cowboy, A Smile, An Airport…

A study conducted by the British Dental Health Foundation showed the act of smiling to dramatically improve one’s mood. Dr. Nigel Carter, foundation CEO, stated “We have long been drawing attention to the fact that smiling increases happiness both in yourself and those around you, so it is good to receive the backing of this scientific research. A healthy smile can improve your confidence, help you make friends and help you to succeed in your career.” -From article on www.livestrong.com
Last week at the airport after landing I was eagerly waiting for my husband to come out of the bathroom and I was taken aback by a rather uncommon gesture.

I kept looking towards the bathroom area to see if my husband was coming out already when a gentleman came out of the bathroom walked by and smiled at me. It was a kind sweet type of smile. The gentleman was wearing Levis, boots a leather belt and a cow boy hat (looking back he reminded me of a young, more petite John Wayne.) It was a ‘howdy ma’am’ with a slight tip of the head kind of smile and I was so surprised to see this younger man ‘see’ me and say hello with his eyes and smile with no underlying message other then to say hello that it was strange and I barely managed to smile back.

It all happened so fast, by the time he walked passed me, my husband was out and we were walking the opposite way to get our bags. I felt so bad not having smiled back returning the kind gesture I almost wanted to run back  find him and thank him but, it was too late. I looked back and he had already disappeared into the mass of travelers ready to board their flights.

To the cowboy that sent me that  genuine friendly smile at the airport: “I am so sorry I didn’t smile back fully. I am sending you a whole-heartedly thank you smile where ever in the world you may be!”

Smiles can change people’s lives I tell ya!

When was the last time you smiled a kind ‘hello’ smile at a total stranger?

How to Tune in to Your Heart for a Bit of Clarity in a Crunch

How to Tune in to Your Heart for a Bit of Clarity in a Crunch

In this video I guide you on how to get a bit of extra insight when you just have 5-8 minutes.

get comfy right there on your chair or on the ground…

If you are having problems watching the video you can go to my site here.

And, I also want to know that I’m holding a free call called… (see bottom)

How to Tune in to Your Heart for a Bit of Clarity in a Crunch

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you are going through a tough time in your life or are feeling overwhelmed by everything that is going on around you then,
I certainly don’t have to tell you the importance of having a ‘space’ where you can almost escape from it all and get some insight and a bit of respite before heading out again.
By ‘space’ I’m not talking about building your own meditation hall or spa sanctuary (but, if you can, that would be awesome!).
What I am talking about is creating a ‘space’ a moment where you will feel like you just went to the spa when you are done ‘being’ there.
How?
Some call it… ready? it’s a woo woo word…
Meditation.
Otherwise known as doing something that brings peace and joy to you, where your thoughts do not consume your attention.
For you it might be:
  • Gardening
  • Focusing on your breathing
  • Surfing – Walking on the Beach
  • Focusing on your heart beat
  • Organizing your shoes by color :)
  • Listening to a guided visualization like my video above
  • Dancing or Singing (even if in the shower)
Don’t have the time, you say?
I knew you’d say that! Guess what?
It’s not about having the time but, making the time (ouch! I know)
Great, (in a sarcastic tone ;) How long is this going to take?
5 – 10 min.
What can you accomplish in 5 Minutes?
  • More peace of mind
  • The ability to let go (of what you don’t need) with more ease
  • People noticing an increase of self-esteem and power in you
  • Increased energy
  • More patience and the ability to get through the tough times
What Next?
Try the video, it’s under 8 minutes and tell me what you think by leaving a comment here. (at the bottom)
Here is a little bit about the free call I’m holding that I mentioned at the top…
2 Things You Already Have & 5 Crucial Questions to Make Decision Making Easier For You
2 Things You Already Have & 5 Crucial Questions to Make Decision Making Easier For You
How would you like to not have to depend on asking everyone you know for advice or their opinion?
Or having to agonize wondering how you are going to make that important decisions in your life?
Well, We are all born with our own PGS (personal guidance system [GPS]). We really are. Guess what it is? Your feelings and your inner sight.
When trying to make a decisions but in doubt ask yourself:
  1. “Is this really in alignment with who I am?”
  2. “Is this what I believe or not believe?”
  3. “How would I feel if I say yes?”
  4. “How would I feel if I say No?”
  5. “Am I saying yes/no to please someone when I really want to say yes/no?”
To help figure out your own PGS’s answer try to (1) feel the answer in your body and (2) see it by giving it a color. The first color that comes to mind*
  • Where in your body is the color?
  • What color is it?
  • Is it in your stomach and it looks like a cold blueish?
  • Is it in your throat and it’s more of a brick orangeish?
  • Is it in your chest and it looks like a warm yellow?
  • Is it in your gut and it looks like a light pink?
If it’s not in alignment with you. It’s really okay to say “Thanks but, NO thanks!” Pat your self in the back! You just initialized your own PGS!
Are you worried on how to communicate your newly found PGS results?
Always start with “I feel…” It’s a powerful statement and very valid! it’s your feeling on the matter and people are less likely to argue with you when you are communicating that it’s a feeling and you owe it to yourself to honor it.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
My Request to You:
Start small.
I have a feeling your next question is going to be about colors. For now try not to judge the color that comes up just witness them and allow them to guide you to the answer! If something strong comes up for you and you feel that you would like to further explore this. Feel free to schedule an appointment with me and together we can read it and bring some clarity and grounding to it.
For now I invite you to ask yourself the questions above the next time you find yourself trying to make a decision. Again, start small and gently practice the process as other decisions making opportunities arise. Go at your own pace. Honoring your body and your feelings is a wonderful deep strengthening exercise and it will positively impact other parts of your life too.
  • Start at home when a friend or child asks you something.
  • When debating whether to post a family picture on facebook.
  • When a friend asks you to re-tweet something.
  • Or when you are out shopping and you feel pressured by a sales person.
*This technique is meant to be used on yourself. If you are trying to help someone else it’s best to be respectful and allow the person to feel their own and not try and feel their stuff it in your body.
Why Share Your Story?
Why Share Your Story?
You saw this on my e-zine and you are here to share? Great! Just (click on the title) scroll to the bottom and share. Thank you!
If you did not see this on my E-zine:
I would like to hear YOUR story! To hold that sacred space of awareness and acknowledgment to give YOU the opportunity to be heard. NO strings attached! You may even get something absolutely fr*ee for sharing.
Have you, a friend or family member ever told a story that brought a smile to their face over and over again? I know I have. Have you noticed how you feel each time after you tell your story? Sometimes you feel lighter, happier, more inspired and uplifted, right?
With each sharing of your words, advice, experiences… there is a healing that happens at a very deep level! Have you ever felt emotion rise up from deep within when listening to someone’s story of triumph, loss, joy, tragedy or love?
Sometimes the healing happens not only in the speaking of your words but, in the ‘moment’ that is created between you and the listener(s).
Like at a ceremony. There are sacred words spoken that may not be repeated in the exact same way again but, it is a magical moment that was created by speakers and listeners. A moment which will last a life time, one that will be told over and over again.
Words indeed are powerful and stories even more so. Why do you think we tear up when we see a documentary or a movie of someone’s story? Because it is sacred! YOUR story is sacred!
In many cultures stories have been passed down from generation to generation as a way to keep them alive as history, teachings or treasured family moments.
My Request to You?
Share with us a little about YOU!  It can be as short as a sentence. Share a…
  • Favorite quote and why
  • Something about someone that is very special to you and why
  • A moment of great joy
  • A miracle like event you experienced or witnessed
  • The most important day of your life and why
  • An accomplishment (big or large)
  • A story of your journey, love or life
  • A chance meeting with someone or something that positively changed your life forever
  • Maybe even a story of a coincidental moment or synchronicity
  • A story that was handed down to you
  • An Aha moment you had recently. (Like Oprah calls them)
Ready to Share a few words? Great! Just (click on the title if you are not on the post already) scroll to the bottom and enter your comment. Thank you!
Why Share?
The experience of being heard in a sacred supportive manner. An opportunity to share a few positive words that otherwise the world may never have the chance to hear from you. Doesn’t that give you goose bumps?
My ceremony was not too long ago and as each day came closer to the wedding my desire to have family around and hear their story became stronger and stronger. Most of my family was not able to attend my wedding.
My grandmothers passed away many years ago and my grandfathers died before I was born so, I never had the chance to hear their stories, their advice, or what inspired them to grow and be who they became.
Did someone ever ask them their story? I don’t know, I hope so. Has someone ever asked you?
I do this in honor of them and all those who have come before us and did not have a chance to share their story.  Maybe they were never asked or did not have the opportunity to speak of their family history, what inspired them, their accomplishments, or life experiences.
What Do You Get For Sharing?
The Life Organizer
On The Death Of The Beloved
— John O’Donohue
Though we need to weep your loss,
You dwell in that safe place in our hearts,
Where no storm or night or pain can reach you.
Your love was like the dawn
Brightening over our lives
Awakening beneath the dark
A further adventure of colour.
The sound of your voice
Found for us
A new music
That brightened everything.
Whatever you enfolded in your gaze
Quickened in the joy of its being;
You placed smiles like flowers
On the altar of the heart.
Your mind always sparkled
With wonder at things.
Though your days here were brief,
Your spirit was live, awake, complete.
We look towards each other no longer
From the old distance of our names;
Now you dwell inside the rhythm of breath,
As close to us as we are to ourselves.
Though we cannot see you with outward eyes,
We know our soul’s gaze is upon your face,
Smiling back at us from within everything
To which we bring our best refinement.
Let us not look for you only in memory,
Where we would grow lonely without you.
You would want us to find you in presence,
Beside us when beauty brightens,
When kindness glows
And music echoes eternal tones.
When orchids brighten the earth,
Darkest winter has turned to spring;
May this dark grief flower with hope
In every heart that loves you.
May you continue to inspire us:
To enter each day with a generous heart.
To serve the call of courage and love
Until we see your beautiful face again
In that land where there is no more separation,
Where all tears will be wiped from our mind,
And where we will never lose you again.
Sometimes It Takes a Major Problem to Remind us of the Kindness of Others
Sometimes It Takes a Major Problem to Remind us of the Kindness of Others
I don’t know if you heard the news last night that there was a massive power outage in many counties in Southern California as well as parts of Arizona and even Mexico due to an issue at the Arizona Plant which affected over 5 million people.
When the power outage occurred I was on a roll updating my new inspired living blog and the first thing when the power went out besides “I sure my work was saved” was “Awesome, now I can go take a break, relax and maybe go for a swim.” As soon as we maid sure to unplug things that were not on surge protector and we lingered about the house we slowly started seeing our neighbors pour out of their house. Did I mention we have been having 90-100 degree weather too?
Insight gained:
1. Wow, I really needed to take a break and I could have continued working until late with out being kind to my body and taken a brake. That’s crazy and NOT okay. Are you scheduling time for brakes in your day? I use to then I let it go. Will be starting again for sure!
2. I don’t think I have ever seen so many of my neighbors out and about in the neighborhood at the same time like last night. Once at the pool people that had never seen each other before were chatting, kids playing together it was a great sight.
3. It felt SO wonderful to be unplugged. It felt so peaceful. I could hear the birds and the wind rustle leaves. I felt more physically grounded and clear. I was actually looking forward to having a candle lit dinner and a good night sleep.
4. As we walked back from the pool and having heard that the power might be out until tomorrow I was relieved to remember that we were somewhat prepared. We had candles and flashlights, a solar powered cell charger, dry food, a gas stove and a little cash for food and enough gas if we needed to travel out of our area to pick up essentials.  Are you prepared? What does your emergency kit contain?
5. The best story came l across was of a man and his son who were stranded due to lack of gas and a good citizen stopped to help them out. In turn this father and son team spent the rest of the evening and until the night helping women and other people by providing them with enough gas to get home. If you happen to know the link to a story written about them (I saw it on TV) please let me know to thank them and spread the word that there are many helpful people out there.
We did get our power back (feel very lucky, many are still with out power) and I ended up turning off all the lights and kept my candles on, had our candle lit dinner and enjoyed a quiet moment with my fiance.
Have you ever taken your mistakes with a glass of warm milk and cookies?
Have you ever taken your mistakes with a glass of warm milk and cookies?
Cookies and Milk
Instead of being so hard on your self?
Do you ever hesitate to take big steps in your life because you’re bogged down, afraid you’ll make a
mistake? Fear not! Simply take your mistakes with a glass of warm milk and cookies. If it were not for
mistakes, where would the people you know who lead happy, successful lives be? Not far from where they
started, that’s for sure.
What if, the next time you made a mistake, you just took a deep breath acknowledged it, and welcomed it with open arms
as a minor detour or a side effect? After all, medications considered palliative often have potentially serious
side effects that range from internal bleeding and loss of one’s sense of taste to…death.
So why not make more leaps of faith? Smell more flowers? Meet more goals? Love more? And may I be
extreme here and ask that you contemplate the possibility of living more joyously with peace of mind,
freedom and security. Why not turn your deepest, most secret wishes into reality, thus freeing me, your
heart, to bloom, and the “butterflies” in your stomach to thrive, allowing me now and then to beat so fast
from excitement that it feels as if I’m going to jump out of your shirt and plunge into your glass of warm
milk?
You don’t like that feeling, you say? I thought you liked it. At least that’s what I thought the other day when
you caught a glimpse of that good looking individual. (Don’t worry. I won’t tell anyone.)
‘Call me a crazy blood-pumping fanatic, but heck, I believe all that. Why not, right? What do you
have to lose? Nothing! Except, well, maybe fear! And who likes the feeling of fear? Do you get up in the
morning hoping you’ll feel more fear on this new day? Nope. (Well, sometimes you do without even
knowing it, but let’s save that for my next message to you.)
Love always,
Your Heart!
P. S. BTW, I love it when you daydream and pretend that everything you ever wanted to be or to have is
already yours! Why, you ask? Because that daydreaming is what the Law of Attraction and Intuitive
Counseling that Debbie applies when she helps people is based on. Click here to make your appointment and find out more about Debbie’s work.
